  • Andre Silva

    Director

    Andre Silva is an experimental animator and film educator living in Wilmington, North Carolina.

    His creative work considers the complex and layered relationships between the natural environment, virtual landscapes and states of consciousness. His short films have screened at festivals internationally including SXSW, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Girona Film Festival and Atlanta Film Festival and have garnered many "best of" awards. In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious North Carolina Artist Fellowship.

    His teaching experience includes 2D animation (motion graphics, gif animation, character animation), filmmaking in the wild, alternative forms of filmmaking (including 16mm cameraless filmmaking, hand-processing and creative crowdsourcing), documentary and experimental film production, and video post-production.

    Andre founded and is the Director of the Cape Fear Environmental Film Forum. CFEFF offers grass-roots solutions to environmental challenges by presenting environmentally themed films and galvanizing conversation between filmmakers, panels of local advocates and audience members.

  • Shannon Silva

    Director / Producer

    Shannon Silva is a multi-modal filmmaker from Austin, Texas and is currently a Professor of Film Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

    Fluidly moving through non-fiction, narrative, animation, and experimental modes, she allows each film’s focus to find its appropriate production process. Her films meditate on issues of class, gender, environment and disability while contemplating the cultural rituals of gathering, the challenges of isolation, and the preserving effects of community and environment.

    Over the past two decades, her films have screened and won awards at festivals internationally.

    Her short narrative film, Baby Oil, was nominated for Best Acting and Best Writing at the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival.

    Her feature documentary, It's A Girl Thing: Tween Queens and The Commodification of Girlhood, was awarded Best Social Documentary at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.

    She is a recipient of the prestigious North Carolina Arts Council's Fellowship award, the founder/Executive Director of the Visions Film Festival & Conference.

  • Tiffany Albright

    Producer

    Tiffany Albright is a writer, producer, and director based in Greensboro, NC. Her work centers on women and queer stories, and explores identity, gender, sexuality, and class in genre film.

    She’s been a quarterfinalist for the Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship, and a two-time Austin Film Festival Second Rounder. She is a producer of the sci-fi feature Nemesis Eterna with award-winning director Stephen van Vuuren, and the experimental sci-fi feature Red Earth with award-winning filmmaker Georg Koszulinski.

    Tiffany is in development on Keepsake, a queer feminist revenge horror feature. Keepsake was selected for the inaugural Stowe Story Lab Producers Lab, and the Filmshop Writer’s Den.

    Tiffany is the founder of the Queer Fear Film Festival and Lunar Kitchen Films.
